Geothermal Cooling for a Greenhouse
Geothermal Cooling Systems: This is an idea and I'm sure it will work but haven't had a chance to try it yet. I think it would be the ideal system for a small farm requiring greenhouse cooling. There are systems out there that are already using this technology or something similar for houses.
The Concept: Pump cool water out of the ground and use it in a evaporative cooler, heat pump, or mist chamber to transfer heat to the
air. Send the warm water to an irrigation ditch, pond or back into the ground. Most of the heat reduction would be due to evaporating water but you should get some air temperature reduction from the cool
water. Ground water temperatures vary region to region but I think they're cool enough in most parts of the US to make this work? Please e-mail Joe jozeeben@netdoor.com
if you have experience with these systems. I'll try to find some links soon . . .. To be continued.
